I had the absolute pleasure of visiting one of the BEST anime themed bars I've ever visited: The Spiteful Angel's Bar

I'm going to say it right now. This is one of the BEST themed bars, in the Sunset community. Hands down. This bar is the absolute GOLD standard. It's based off of Neon Genesis Evangelion, and it's so authentic it blows my mind that ONE person managed to pull this off all on their own, let's just go through the list here folks!

This is a textbook example of brilliant theming! the only issue I see with this bar, is its low numbers as Erwin is looking to hire staff. But his service and his passion and drive for this bar has been amazing, I've seen him run the bar mostly on his own for hours with low numbers and he kept it open anyway, that takes GUTS! and it's GUTS like that that make QUALITY bars like this.

The bar has been raised folks! (pun intended ) and I cannot wait to see this bar grow into something even better in the future!

Erwin! my hat goes off to you, you've created a bar that transports me into an entire different universe as soon as I walk through the door, and I LOVE IT!

And he gave me my own secret drink: The Spear of Tannen!

===INTERVIEW WITH THE MAN HIMSELF!===

Q: What made you decide to go with the Evangelion theme for the bar? were there any other anime IPs or themes you considered before deciding on the current one?

A: I settled on Neon Genesis Evangelion 1995 [NGE 1995] because at the time me and my former friend Ted decided to open a bar together back in April I believe. we where struggling for a unique theme, and in the previous few weeks I had recently watched NGE 1995 for the first time and absolutely falling in love with the series, and I pondered about the plausibility of running a NGE 1995 themed bar. I then proposed the idea to Ted and he agreed that it sounded like a good idea ,I had considered other anime themes such as my much beloved show 'Girls und Panzer" although it could work I decided against it because it sadly isn't nearly as popular as the cultural icon that is NGE 1995

Q: What future goals do you have for the Spiteful Angels? what vision do you have for the bars future?

A: Now that I posses full control of ownership of The Spiteful Angels Bar [TSAB] I believe the best way for me to go is open the bar as often as I can to attract as many wonderful people I can. The first goal I set a while back was to reach 100 members in the VRC Public group ,a nice easy achievable goal ,then my next goal is to achieve regular attendance among patrons because at the moment we aren't that busy. Once I've achieved that the goal will be to thrive as a peaceful little Bar community of good minded and kind folk ,anime fan or not they're all welcome

Q: Has there been any hardships or struggles with the bar since you opened till now? what has changed since the first opening night?

A: Now of course there has been hardships everyone suffers from hardships ,I'll only mention a couple but the first and most personally frustrating is the effort my partner Ted who I've previously mentioned, we are the founders ,we Co run the bar. But he had the technical ownership of both our discord and VRC Groups ,now that's fine by me ,until the day at which he suddenly disappeared of the face of the earth for 2 months which halted some of the progress I could have made since there where certain things I could not do with the permissions I had. He eventually came back ,and then disappeared again and same story again, So therefore it not only soured our friendship severely but also severely influenced my ability to run my bar as proficiently as I could.

Q: What would you say is your favourite drink on the menu?

A: Now getting me to choose which of my many many drinks, is my favourite is a cruel one sir ,but I'll answer it with a selection of my favourites from the 3 menus ,on the standard menu my favourites are the Ayanami and La Furina, a bar patron favourite I might add. Secondly on our secret menu for our loyal attendees I'll pick my special, the "Erwin Special" and finally my favourites of the Angelical List for our Veteran attendees are number's 5 [Ramiel] and 17 [Tabris]. However just because these are my favourites is not to say I dislike any of my drinks ,in fact I love all of them ,and they're all good drinks

Q: If there was something you'd like to see more or less of in the VR bar community, what would it be and why?

A: In the VRC bar community there are many ups and many downs to it whether it be people and what they practice. Or simple the poor management or lack of inspiration in a bar ,I would love to see more fans of Neon Genesis Evangelion to speak up about it ,I've met many fans in other bars or other locations and just wanted to drag them to my bar instead, but I can't do that for this is a video game and as well against the freedom of choice so I guess I'm asking for more exposure of my bar to the fans of the Anime I and many others love.

Something I would like to definitely see less off in the bar community especially on public discord servers like say on DCN's Official server, that thing would be the acceptance and normalisation of NSFW themes [such as ERP, R34, H*ntai, P*rn etc etc] and the Sexualisation and objectification of Women. I find it disgusting that such things are just normal on the platform and especially in some of these bars. Truly sickens me that they're allowed to exist ,and even more so on official servers ,in my opinion these bars and groups should be taken down ,this is an issue with the bar community and VRC as a whole
